Happy Birthday Zach !

Today is the 92nd anniversary of the birth of "The Cool Ghoul", John Zacherle (aka Zacherley)!

Zacherley made his first monster mag appearance in FM #2, as Philadelphia's Roland, in an article about TV horror hosts. By June 1960, he was now New York's Zacherley and featured in this cover story in FM #7. By this time, Zacherley was a star (a phenomenon, really) and remains so in his 92nd year! Happy Birthday, Zach!

Marvel Monster Mag Miscellany pt.1

Marvel (Curtis) had one honest to gosh movie monster mag in the '70s (Monsters of the Movies) and several monster comics mags. Some of the comics mags, however, did have some film content. A short article or two and a few of the old funny captioned photos. In this series we'll post the movie content of the Marvel monster comics mags.

First up, Monsters Unleashed no. 1 (with the rest of the MU issues to follow).
