Sorry for the mis-comment. Meant to say:
ReplyDeleteNO doubt about it! The same tends to hold true for films and TV shows... the vast majority of biggest money-makers and most well-known/popular works are all horror, sci-fi and fantasy pieces.
Sure, half of the top 12 are Playboys, but that's sex. Shooting fish in a barrel, so to speak.
Lists like this one are fun, informative and oh so very gratifying to we monster geeks, haha!
Great find, Mike.
BTW The prices on this list are based on 9.4 or better cond. and CGC approved, which is why they are 5+ times normal price. I suppose if I had 9.4 early FMs or Magnums I would get them slabbed, if I was interested in selling.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting information, Mike. Although I have always thought that "slabbing" carries with it the taint of elitism, it's still cool to see that monster mags are coveted by collectors.

ReplyDeleteLike I said, I would only use it for selling, to get a higher price. When buying, I wouldn't want to pay that price, or have a mag sealed in plastic.
