Sci-Fi Mags Part 2

Two of my favorite mags in the wake of Star Wars were Science Fantasy Film Classics and it's even shorter lived sister mag Incredible Science Fiction. The mags had high production values and were well written. What I found most interesting was that each issue featured a film from the '50s, one from the '60s and one fron the '70s (a current hit like Star Wars). Each issue also featured a fold out poster of original art (no great shakes), based on the current hit movie featured in the mag.

SFFC and ISF were both published by Ron Fenton in 1977 and 1978. Editors were Irv Karchmar and Curt Clemmer. The Art Director of SFFC was Michael Stein, who with Karchmar would start Fantastic Films in '78 and later, Stein would go on to create Filmfax.

Sci-Fi Movie Mags

Although this site is about "monster mags", that went out of style when Star Wars and Starlog/Fangoria came along. The permanent galleries will still be reserved for those old style mags, but that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun posting a few covers, in this blog, of those sci-fi and horror (as apposed to "monster") mags from later years!

Here's one thing I just happened to have scanned, so let's get the ball rolling. This is Science Fiction Illustrated: 1977, from L/C Print Publications in 1977. You can see that it's mostly made up of  1976 movies (King Kong, Sinbad and Logan's Run), Star Wars having not yet been released. Anybody remember this one-shot?

Screen Thrills and Wildest Westerns ?

My, time does get away from you!

I know these aren't exactly monster mags, but would anybody be interested in cover galleries of STI and WW? I thought it might be interesting to have the only other Warren film magazines.
