ha, i bought my first issue of FM(#83)from one of those open-front corner stores, we didn't have little newsstands like this one in Houston! it's sad i didn't know FM existed 'til i was 10 or 11, i could have picked up some classic issues in my day! oh well, ebay took care of that little problem...
When I was a kid (in a small town), magazines, comics, newspapers and the like were sold in drug stores, supermarkets and a few other places like that. No newsstands only.
How did you know that stand was in Houston? The only clue I can see is "Enquirer".
